At a Glance
Victim Services of Temiskaming & District is designed to provide immediate crisis
intervention to persons victimized by crime or tragic circumstances in all communities inside our catchment
area.
On-Scene Support
Our Team is trained to respond to the needs of individuals at the scene of
a crime or tragedy and provide information that is helpful in each circumstance. Emotional Support is administered
by assisting victims in gathering natural support systems, identifying options/choices, and validating feelings
while actively listening to concerns.
Our staff may also offer practical assistance through the provision of
transportation, accompaniment, assistance with childcare, safety planning, and referrals to appropriate
community supports and services.

Victim Quick Response Program (VQRP)
The VQRP provides timely financial assistance to victims of violent crime. It is
designed to support victims in the immediate aftermath of a violent crime, to lessen the impact of the event,
and to increase a victim's safety. It is intended to help contribute to the costs of counseling, emergency home
repair, funeral and emergency expenses.
This support is available to victims of homicide, attempted murder, serious physical
assault, domestic violence, sexual assault, human trafficking and hate crimes.
